Why your story matters NAME IT TO TAME IT

A story defines who we are, it tells us more about us and accounts on what we do today. Everyone has a story to tell, those stories influences our behaviour, our attitudes, we are victims of some kind of attitudes like anger, bitterness, resentment and fear not because that's who we are, its just that the root cause of our life is based on our story line.

People work hard to achieve success in their lives by rewriting their stories, this is to mean we all have different measure of success, We all have an opportunity to change our lives by first identifying what kind of story we hold. Your story defines your history, the things that put you down and those that made you rise again. Most of us have dark background that have caused trauma in our lives affecting how we connect with our relationships and even affecting our professional lives, the reason this happened is because we have a past that needs to faced.

We all understand that our past generates our story line, when we talk about our stories we begin to narrate, narrative psychology is understanding someone's story and being able to speak it out, a story frames our identity and ultimately become our realties. for example a lady who grew in a violent family will automatically live with fear, creating boundaries of attachments, but being able to name it and tame it is what makes us to rewrite a new story which changes our lives and that of others.

Its is also important to note that, how you rewrite you story may influence others in a positive or negative way depending on how well you have resonated with your past. Look at all the people who have made it in their lives, they have either poor background, are orphans, street children or have an abused childhood, they all speak about their past with boldness as they celebrate the harvest of hard work and facing through hardship, rejection of people who criticised their positing but they took the courage to name and tame their situations, making it powerless to control them hence rewriting a new story.

And they are those who are afraid of looking back into their past wishing that things could just change for them , they therefore being seeking for validation from others because they have not yet made peace with their past this brings a negative aspect in their lives and those around them for they are ungrateful persons, have bitter attitudes and unhappy souls, they additionally, have no goal or purpose to purse leading to undeserving life.

You can be anything you want to be and achieve everything you want to achieve, if only you don't let the past define your destiny. We all have the potential no one was born better than the other regardless of the background, the perception of our mind has made us think and feel that way. We all hold the all cards on our hands how we play the game is up to us.

Embracing your story gives you full access to freedom and courage to face anything that may hit along the way, fear of embracing your story keeps you miles away from your victory. We often summarize our experiences with our stories. Having that understanding helps you to perceive the present and imagine the future. Remember the future you see is the future you get.
